Hannah Neibauer hit two free throws with less than a second remaining to lift the visiting Hawks to the non-league win. Neibauer was fouled as she drove to the basket.
Hockinson led by six points late in the game, but Battle Ground hit six consecutive free throws to tie it before Neibauer’s winning foul shots.
Emily Griffth paced Battle Ground with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Jossilyn Blackman added 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Kylie Smith had 10 points and seven rebounds.
All nine players scored for the Hawks. Neibaur scored 13 of her points in the second half after sitting for much of the first half in early foul trouble.
Sydnie Cole-Volger finished with eight steals for Hockinson, seven of them in the second half. Ellie Tilkin grabbed 11 rebounds.
