Cascade Park West — A Vancouver family is hoping crowdfunding will help them purchase a van large enough to transport their two boys and their wheelchairs. Heather Jensen said her boys — Josh, 13, and Luke, 11 — who both attend Wy’east Middle School, have lost their ability to walk because of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a deadly progressive disorder. The family’s current van is too small to carry both wheelchairs, making it impossible to travel together as a family. This is why she and her husband, Jerry, are trying to raise $20,000 online to buy a larger, more reliable van. As of Monday, they have raised around $3,035. “Every day is an enormous challenge for us,” read a post on their fundraising website, http://bit.ly/1A9mS09.
