Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 6. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

ALYSSA BLANKENSHIP, WASHOUGAL GIRLS BASKETBALL: Blankenship averaged 19 points a game over three games as she led the Panthers to 3-0 start.

CASSIE HUIT, BATTLE GROUND GIRLS BOWLING: Huit average 198 over six games, including a 247 game, as the Tigers won three matches.

TREVOR JASINSKY, CAMAS BOYS BASKETBALL: Jasinsky averaged 26 points a game over three games, including a 37-point game against Wilson.

MIRANDA LEA, SKYVIEW GYMNASTICS: Lea won the vault (9.2), bars (9.1) and tied for first on the floor (9.3) to win the all-around (36.2) in a meet with Union, Columbia River and Evergreen.

KURTIS PATTERSON, WOODLAND WRESTLING: In his first tournament since a knee injury wiped out his season last year, Patterson won the 170-pound division at the Three Rivers Classic in Longview.
