A strong second half from Darrius Mathis and 22 points from Bryan Berg helped the Clark College men’s basketball rally for an 84-64 win over visiting Clackamas on Friday at the O’Connell Center.

Clark coach Alex Kirk said Mathis was the key to the second half as the Penguins overcame a 12-point first-half deficit to win going away.

Mathis finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists.

“He just scrapped like crazy,” Kirk said. “For us, it’s always a different guy on a different night. The players recognize it could be their night at any time.”

Antony Dunn also had 14 points for Clark (3-1).

Clark’s next game is 8 p.m. Thursday against Concordia JV at the O’Connell Center.
