Winterhawks beat Victoria for sixth straight win

The Portland Winterhawks scored four first-period goals en route to a 6-4 win at Victoria on Tuesday.

The win is Portland’s sixth straight, the longest active streak in the Western Hockey League.

Chase De Leo, Alex Schoenborn and Keoni Texiera scored within the first 6:06 as Portland took a 3-0 lead. Dominic Turgeon also scored in the first period, which ended with Portland up 4-2.

Victoria clawed back and tied the game 4-4. But Oliver Bjorkstrand put Portland back ahead with 9:35 to play.

Portland (15-12-0-3) added an empty-netter to seal the game.
