Clark County — The Friday Teen Late Night Program at the Marshall and Firstenburg community centers will be able to continue for another year following a recent $5,000 grant from Wells Fargo to the Parks Foundation of Clark County.
Because of budget cuts, Vancouver Parks and Recreation decided to stop funding the teen program in 2012, according to a press release. But the program has stayed alive since then through financial support from grants, donations and scholarships.
Nearly 200 middle- and high-school-aged students attend the social events, where they can play games and interact with each other under supervision.
The program can keep running with its current funding until at least the end of the 2015 school year.
