Johnson Lee of Vancouver and Laura Lewis of Forest Grove, Ore., were the winners of Sunday’s 12-kilometer Hot Buttered Run in Vancouver.
Lee, 28, completed the course of about 7.5 miles in 42 minutes and 56 seconds. He finished more than four minutes ahead of runner up Aaron Scovel of Nehalem, Ore. Lewis, 33, finished in 50:20. She was one minute faster than the second-place woman, Roxanne Monson of Beaverton.
In the 5-kilometer run, Tyneil Thompson, 38, of Battle Ground, was the first woman to finish. Her time was 20:39. Joseph Turley of Portland was the overall 5-kilometer winner. His time was 17:31.
Eight of the top 10 finishers in the 5-kilometer run were from Clark County.
This was the fifth year the Hot Buttered Run has been staged by Energy Events, which puts on the Vancouver USA Marathon in June. The next local event on the Energy Events calendar is the Fort Vancouver Run on March 1. That event includes distances of 15, 10 or 6 kilometers.
