Former Volcanoes Dancers join dance teams in Portland, Seattle

Vancouver — Former Vancouver Volcanoes Dancers are finding continued success in the world of sports entertainment. Alumni of the Vancouver squad, which entertains during the minor league basketball team’s games, regularly move on to join other dancing and cheer groups, including the highly competitive Portland Trail Blazers Dancers. Former Volcanoes picked to join the 2014-15 Blazers Dancers are rookies Erika Whittenberg and Krista Stahl, who will join squad veterans Michelle Johnson, JennaLea Ferestad and Ashley Azadeh. Outside the world of basketball, two former Vancouver dancers were picked this season to be Sea Gals cheerleaders at Seattle Seahawks games, including rookie Haley Kerle and veteran Tamara Favell. Volcanoes alums dancing on the Rosebud squad for the Portland Winterhawks this year are rookies Kasey Burkhart, Halee Baird, Salam Tessema and Brianna Neely. Heading into another season on the Rosebuds are Nina Perry, Leah Noack, Rachel Bauman and Lauren Ennis.
