Washington State University Clark County Extension is offering a 16-week prevention course for people with prediabetes.
Prediabetes is a condition in which a person has a blood-sugar level higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The program is designed to help people reduce their risk of Type 2 diabetes, lose weight and become more physically active.
The 16-week program is 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 3, at The Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St., or 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Sept. 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 W. 39th St.
The fee varies based on insurance coverage, income, use of flexible spending accounts and scholarships.
