The Lacamas Valley Sheep Dog Trial will feature top herding dogs and their handlers as they compete to quickly herd and move a group of sheep through a timed course. There will be a public announcer on hand to explain the action on the field for spectators. Lawn chairs and binoculars are encouraged. The finals will take place Sunday to crown the top dog.
When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

2. Cream cheese and lox
Congregation Kol Ami presents Bagel On! Jewish Fun Fair featuring Jewish food, Israeli dancing, traditional music and songs, storytelling and guided tours of the new congregation building. There will also be a crafts area and demonstrations from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Marshal’s Office.

3. Esther Short shootout
This year, Hoops on the River has moved to encompass Esther Short Park with plenty of three-on-three basketball action on 21 courts. There will also be a 3-point shootout, slam-dunk contest, celebrity basketball games, vendor and a youth wellness fair. Proceeds benefit One Team Kids Foundation and Share Vancouver.
