Walgreens stores are accepting check-out counter donations at locations throughout Washington to support those whose lives or property were disrupted by the western wildfires.

Customers are encouraged to make cash donations in amounts of $1, $5 and $10.

Donations go to the American Red Cross to help people affected by the fires, which have been described as the worst in Washington’s history.

The Red Cross is offering shelter and has provided more than 3,200 meals to those affected by the wildfires. The organization is also providing health and mental health services and distributing trash bags, gloves and masks to people throughout the area.

“Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Washington state who are suffering such devastating losses,” said Sue Bandurraga, Walgreens vice president of operations and community management for the Pacific Northwest. “The impact on homes, families, businesses and the natural resources of the area will be felt for a long time to come.”

The Walgreens in Camas is located at 3328 N.E. Third Ave.
