Nine leaders to compete in ‘Dancing’ fundraiser

Event will benefit the Fort Vancouver National Trust

Community leaders will take the stage at Dancing with the Local Stars, a fundraiser for the Fort Vancouver National Trust.

The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Vancouver Hilton, 301 W. Sixth St. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Participants include Katie Atkins-Castillo, Life Pilates Vancouver LLC; Lou Brancaccio, editor of The Columbian; J. Scott Campbell, Waste Connections; Sgt. Dave Henderson, Vancouver Police Department; Pat Jollota, author of “Vanishing Vancouver;” Don Russo, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt; Heidi Scarpelli, Vancouver Fire Department; Patti Westby, Westby & Associates; and Dan Wyatt Jr., owner of Kiggins Theater.

Each dancer has been paired with a professional instructor from Arthur Murray Dance Studio and will perform a 90 second routine. The participants have been fundraising since May. The star who raises the most money will be crowned the champion.

Individual tickets are $50 and include a dinner, bar and open seating. VIP tables for 10 are $1,000 and sponsor tables for 10 are $2,500 to $5,000.
