Washougal — Jennifer Spring has been named a new director of Washougal School Foundation’s annual Student Stride for Education, a charity run/walk that raises money for schools.

Spring replaces event co-founder Julie Down as 5K director. The WSF Stride, as it is also known, is set for May 17 at Washougal High School’s Fishback Stadium.

It’ll kick off at 8 a.m. with a 5k run/walk open to the public, followed by shorter races for different grade levels. A quarter-mile run for preschool and younger wraps up the event.
