Josh Gibson is stepping away from one of the top athletic administration jobs in the state.

The athletic director position at Camas High School is open now that Gibson has accepted another job within the school district. Gibson intends to remain the AD through the school year.

Gibson called the job “an enriching experience” and noted how much he loves the Camas community.

Still, he is giving up the position in order to spend more time with his family.

He still will serve Camas students, though, as a guidance counselor.

This is Gibson’s second school year as the AD.In the past decade, Camas became a powerhouse in several sports at the Class 3A level.

Camas turned into a Class 4A program the year Gibson took over as AD. Football, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, softball, and baseball — among others — have been strong programs for years.
