The city of Battle Ground has hired Erin Erdman, a Vancouver planner and developer, to head the city’s Community Development Department.
Erdman has spent the past nine years with the city of Vancouver as its lead associate planner, development supervisor and most recently as the manager of the city’s permit center. Prior to that, she worked for the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments as the city planner for Castle Rock.
Altogether, Erdman has a dozen years of municipal planning experience. Battle Ground City Manager John Williams said in a press release that he is pleased with the selection, which marks the end of a long, competitive recruitment process for the position.
In her new job as development director, Erdman will lead the department’s planning and building divisions. She will also oversee development projects during each stage of the process, from proposals and conceptual planning to the end of construction.
