Sandra King was located safe near the Washington School for the Deaf, 611 Grand Blvd. She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police are asking the public to help them find a missing Vancouver woman with dementia who left Safeway and didn’t return home.

Sandra Ruth King, 68, was last seen around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at her home in the 1000 block of West 36th Street in Vancouver’s Lincoln neighborhood, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

She said she was walking to Safeway, 3707 Main St., which is less than a mile away. According to the store’s surveillance footage, she left around 3:55 p.m. and started walking southwest through the parking lot pushing a metal cart.

When she did not return home she was reported missing.

Police say King suffers from the early stages of dementia, including short term memory loss. She’s described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket with red and white stripes, black pants and white athletic shoes.

Anyone with information on King’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
