About 500 walkers took part in a walk in Vancouver on Saturday benefiting the March of Dimes.

The March for Babies walk at Esther Short Park raised more than $85,000 through individual, family and corporate teams.

It was one of nine walks in Oregon and Southwest Washington that raised a total of $910,000, according to organizers.

Money raised will help fund prenatal wellness programs, research grants, neonatal intensive care unit family support programs and advocacy efforts for stronger, healthier babies, organizers said.
