Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will observe National Junior Ranger Day from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The celebration will be at Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E. Fifth St., which is managed by the National Park Service.
Junior Ranger Day is a nationwide event that encourages families to visit national parks and explore America’s treasures. Aspiring Junior Rangers will complete activities and tasks to earn badges.
At Fort Vancouver, the Pearson Air Museum activities will include a basic aeronautics course, educational and historical videos, and toy aircraft construction and flight. Activities will be led by park guide Jim Patterson, a retired Navy avionics technician chief petty officer.
The event is free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
