Spring chinook angling should improve at Wind River and Drano Lake as the count at Bonneville Dam keeps climbing.
Both Columbia Gorge locations produced catches last week, but normally the final week of April and first week of May is the best fishing period.
The lower Columbia is now closed for salmon and steelhead fishing until some time in late May or June.
Large numbers of rainbow trout were stocked last week in seven waters jn Southwest Washington.
In Clark County, Lacamas Lake got 4,400 rainbow and Klineline Pond got about 3,400. In Skamania County, Little Ash Lake received 1,000 rainbow, Tunnel Lake got 2,000 and Icehouse Lake was stocked with about 1,200.
Horseshoe Lake at Woodland got 10,300 rainbow, while Kress Lake near Kalama received about 3,400 trout.
