Music faculty recital to raise money for Clark College lessons

The Clark College Music Department performs in a faculty recital at 3 p.m. May 10 in the Penguin Union Building, Room 161, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. The recital is a free, public event, but donations will be accepted for the Music Lesson Scholarship Fund.

The goal is to raise $7,200 to help furnish 10 Clark College students with applied music lessons during the 2014-2015 school year. RSVP by May 5 to http://cvent.com/d/94q2ym.

The recital showcases the broad depth of musical talent teaching in the department. Performers include Donald Appert, April Duvic, Linda Appert, Bill Athens, Liz Byrd, Kathy Charles, Ann Crandall, Richard Gellman, Sue Inouye, James Manuele, Vila Moreland and Eva Richey. The program is an eclectic mix of Mozart, Massenet, Claude Bolling and Ernesto Cordero with works composed by Appert and Matt Doran.
