Spotlight on Youth

DECA COMPETITION

Students from Heritage High School participated in the DECA State Career Development Conference in March, with 16 students qualifying to compete in the International DECA competition in Atlanta this month. It is a record number of winners from the school. Three Heritage students took the top honors in their categories at the state competition in Bellevue: Kalib Inman, Business Services; and Victor Duran and Alyssa Ferguson, Public Relations. Carly Knight and Dmitriy Ivanchuk won third place in Creative Marketing. Dana Cosovan and Addison Underwood won fourth place in Business Law and Ethics; Dana Cosovan and Irina Dolbinina won fourth place in Public Relations; Enrique Juarez and Loren Standiford won fourth place in Business Services; and Johnathan Hubbard and Ruben Otero won fourth place in Financial Services. Julia Agarkov and Alyssa Ferguson were honored as the chapter with highest achievement. Heritage was recognized as a Thrive chapter.
