In celebration of Earth Day, the Clark College Science Consortium will collect textile fabrics that will be recycled from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday in Room 105 of Clark College’s science building, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.

The event will generate funds for the Clark College Science Consortium’s field studies classes, providing students with hands-on experiences in field research.

Collection items include all household textiles in any condition, paired shoes in any condition, towels, gloves, hats, sheets, blankets, quilts, bedspreads, drapes, purses, belts and stuffed animals. Glass and other breakables, electronics, pet beds, bed pillows, uniforms, carpeting, hotel linens or items previously for sale at a thrift store will not be accepted.

Items must be kept dry and should be dropped off in tightly tied plastic bags. Plastic bags also will be available at the donation site.

Donors can park in Clark College’s Orange lot No. 2 off East Reserve Street. Student volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles. Driving directions and parking maps are available at clark.edu/maps.
