Week 4 spring sports high school athlete of the week vote

Nominees for high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 19. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

JARED BERG, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS SOCCER: Berg scored five goals in two wins, including two in a come-from-behind win against Hudson’s Bay.

SHANNON BOYLE, RIDGEFIELD SOFTBALL: Boyle pitched the Spudders to three wins, striking out 29 batters in 18 innings. And she went 7 for 11 from the plate.

JAMES PHILLIPS, PRAIRIE BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Phillips was selected the outstanding male athlete at the John Ingram Twilight Invitational at Columbia River by winning the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump.

BRIDGET STANDARD, FORT VANCOUVER GOLF: Standard won the Chieftain Invitational by three strokes, posting a score of 82 for the 18-hole tournament at Lewis River Golf Course.

JULIA STEPPER, WOODLAND GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Stepper was selected the outstanding female athlete at the Al McKee Invitational in Stevenson by winning the 100 meters, 200 and long jump.
