Cresap Bay boat ramp opens on Saturday

Cresap Bay day-use area and boat ramp at the upper end of Merwin Reservoir will open for the season on Saturday, according to PacifiCorp.

The boat ramp adds a second launching site on the reservoir on the North Fork of the Lewis River. Speelyai Bay boat ramp is open all year.

Mount Hood Meadows adds two days to schedule

Mount Hood Meadows has added two extra days to its operating schedule.

The ski area will be open the Fridays of May 2 and May 9. The two days will allow for three-day weekends the first two weekends of May.

Daily operations will end on April 27. A season’s end festival will be on May 17.

Mount Hood Meadows has 117 inches of snow in its base area.

Boating safety class set for April 26

Registration is open for a boating safety class beginning at 8:30 a.m. April 26 at the Clark County Public Works Maintenance and Operations Conference Center, 4700 N.E. 78th Ave.

The course cost $10 per boater.

Offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Clark County Marine Patrol, the class continues until 4:45 p.m.

A class on marine band radio communications will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon also on April 26 at the same location. The cost is $10.
