A kindergartner brought four rounds of ammunition onto a Camas school bus Tuesday, according to the Camas School District.

At about 4 p.m., a student on a school bus on the Prune Hill Elementary route told the driver that they discovered a round of ammunition, according to the district.

The driver pulled the bus over as soon as it was safe to do so and contacted transportation dispatch. The driver searched the backpack of the suspected student and found two additional rounds and a fourth round on the floor of the bus, according to the school district.

No threats were made.

The transportation director responded and removed the ammunition from the bus and the driver resumed the route.

The school resource officer as well as the parents of the offending student were notified, according to the school district.

Per district policy, disciplinary actions taken by the school were not disclosed.
