A man robbed a Riverview Community Bank on Wednesday in east Vancouver.

The robbery was reported just before 5 p.m. at 1901 N.E. 162nd Ave. The suspect handed a note to the teller and left the bank with cash that was wrapped around a dye pack, according to Vancouver police Sgt. Mark Blaisdell. The robber crossed Northeast 162nd Avenue and got into the passenger side of a two-door pickup described as either blue or black, Blaisdell said. The pickup didn’t have a tailgate.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s, about 5 foot 6, with a scruffy beard and dark-blond hair. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a backwards Seattle Seahawks ball cap and a hooded sweatshirt. The dye pack went off, so the robber would have had dye on him, Blaisdell said.

Police searched the area but weren’t able to find the suspect.
