2014 ALL-WASHINGTON ACADEMIC TEAM
Christopher Beh and Amelia Longbons, students at Clark College, were among 68 students in Washington state named to the 2014 All-Washington Academic Team. Beh and Longbons were recognized for their service to Clark College and their community at a March 27 event at South Puget Sound Community College.
Beh, of Vancouver, is completing high school through Clark’s Running Start program. He supports his family by working part time at the college’s computer help desk, and with other tasks as his mother is recovering from neck surgery. Clark’s online courses have allowed him flexibility with his work at home. He is studying computer science and business at Clark and has accepted admission to the University of Washington, where he plans to major in computer science.
Longbons, of Kelso, is in Clark’s dental hygiene program, where she has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She has a long history of volunteering and is currently organizing a free dental day for local homeless people and veterans. Longbons plans to graduate with her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in June, and to enroll in the dental hygiene program at Eastern Washington University.
