Two Vancouver men are accused of threatening people with guns during a bonfire party early Tuesday at the city’s Wintler Park along the Columbia River.

Elishia M. Wilson, 18, and Devin D. Schultz-Morrison, 19, appeared Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree assault and other charges.

Judge John Nichols held Wilson and Schultz-Morrison in the Clark County Jail in lieu of $75,000 and $50,000, respectively.

They are scheduled to be arraigned April 23 on charges of first-degree assault and violating a park curfew. Wilson also faces a charge of a minor in possession of alcohol. Wilson allegedly went to the park for the party and became involved in an argument with a group of people. Wilson said he was “going to go get his friends and bring guns back” to assault one of the partygoers, according to a court affidavit.

He left the group, returned with a firearm and pointed it at the victim, court records say. Schultz-Morrison allegedly also pointed a gun at the victim, who was not named in court records.

“I was in fear for my life,” the victim said in court records. “I thought I was going to be shot.”

Schultz-Morrison denied pointing his handgun at the victim; he said he held it by his side for protection, court records say.

Vancouver police were called to the park, 6501 S.E. Beach Drive, at about 1:30 a.m. and arrested the two men.
