TSA set to hire part-time security officers at PDX

The Transportation Security Administration is preparing to hire part-time Transportation Security Officers at Portland International Airport.

TSA is looking for people seeking to work 20 hours per week for the federal agency. An informational forum will be held April 15 at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, 8235 N.E. Airport Way in Portland. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a 6 p.m. presentation. Questions can be directed to TSAOregonHiring@tsa.dhs.gov.

The most visible work of the officers is security screening of passengers and their checked luggage at the airport. Officers perform a variety of duties related to security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft. Additional information about the TSA and officer responsibilities is at www.tsa.gov.
