JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF OREGON & S.W. WASHINGTON AWARDS

Darryl Horowitz, owner and commercial loan officer at National Investment Corp. in Vancouver, was recognized for his support of Junior Achievement and its mission to help young people succeed in a global economy. Horowitz was presented a Bronze Leadership Award at a Junior Achievement board meeting, where he’s been a director for more than 13 years. He was the founding member and longtime Chair of the J.A. Vancouver Advisory Board, has taught 12 J.A. classes, and has supported the organization through the annual Bowl-a-Thon, raising over $45,000 with his National Investment Finance team over the past nine years.

WSU ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Retired political scientist Daniel M. Ogden Jr. of Vancouver was honored with the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award for a 50-year career of service to academia, the federal government and the local community. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the WSUAA. He and his wife, Val Ogden, have established the Dan and Val Ogden Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Public Affairs at WSU.

Trent Harimoto and Lauren Lamb, both of Camas, and Julia Larson of Washougal were named to the fall 2013 dean’s list.

EMORY COLLEGE, ATLANTA

Benjamin Bolte and Celeste Leonard, both of Vancouver, were named to the fall 2013 dean’s list.

PACIFIC UNIVERSITY, FOREST GROVE, ORE.

Emily Abramson of Vancouver was named to the fall 2013 dean’s list.

WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY, SPOKANE

Jason Wise of Vancouver recently graduated cum laude.
