Clark College Sakura Festival is April 17

Clark College’s Sakura Festival on April 17 will honor the friendship between Vancouver and Joyo, Japan, Vancouver’s official sister city. The free, public festival will begin at 1 p.m. at the Royce E. Pollard Japanese Friendship Garden adjacent to the Beacock Music Hall on Clark’s main campus, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be in Gaiser Student Center.

1 to 2 p.m. in the Royce E. Pollard Japanese Friendship Garden: Opening ceremony including koto performance by Yukiko Vossen and a performance by the Clark College Women’s Ensemble.

2 to 4 p.m. in Gaiser Student Center: Kimono fashion show, dance performance by the Clark College Japanese Club, taiko drum performance and refreshments.
