Oregon Iron Works is exploring the idea of adding a three-acre outdoor storage yard for steel products adjacent to its manufacturing site on Southeast Hidden Way, near the Columbia River waterfront.
The company’s pre-application, now under review by the city, seeks an expansion of the company’s “steel laydown yard” on Hidden Way.
Sisul Engineering of Vancouver, which submitted the application for Oregon Steel, said activity would be sporadic and that some of the material could remain on the property for weeks or months. The only vehicular traffic would be forklifts, according to the application.
