A series of waste collection events will invite Clark County residents to dispose of household hazardous waste and other items starting next week.
A Clark County Environmental Services program known as Green Neighbors will host nine free Saturday collection events around the county this year. The first will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at Yacolt Primary School, 406 W. Yacolt Road.
The next two events will be April 19 on South 11th Street, west of South Timm Road, in Ridgefield, and April 26 at Washougal Public Works, 2201 C St. in Washougal. Both collections will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the county.
Additional events are set for May, September and October, according to the county.
Past collection events have accepted block foam, electronics and household hazardous waste such as pesticides, paints, motor oil and cleaners. Residents can also drop off old tires, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units, scrap metal and woody yard debris at most events this year, according to the county.
The county’s collection program receives funding from the state Department of Ecology.
