Registration is open for auditions for this year’s Sing Fourth Teen Vocal Competition on July 4.

Auditions will be held for the first 45 Clark County high school students who contact the Fort Vancouver National Trust at 360-992-1804 or events@fortvan.org.

Auditions begin at 1 p.m. May 24.

Information, including the registration form, is at http://www.fortvan.org/fourth.

Judges will select 10 finalists to compete on July 4 on the Vancouver Toyota main stage at the Fort Vancouver National Site. The competition begins at noon.

It is open to county residents enrolled in public school or private school or home-schooled during the 2013-2014 academic year, including high school grads from the class of 2014.

Contestants must bring a karaoke-style CD of their musical accompaniment to the audition. Songs must be three minutes or shorter; the disc must be playable on a standard CD player.

Finalists will be expected to perform the same number in front of a panel of celebrity judges July 4. They will be judged on originality, skill, poise, likely audience appeal and family-friendly content.

The competition is presented by Davidson Insurance and Pemco Insurance Co.

The winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship. Second place earns a $500 scholarship, and third place earns a $250 scholarship.
