Wind advisory issued for this afternoon

20 to 30 mph with gusts to 55

Sunday's weather spelled doom for three oak trees at the Battle Ground home of Bruce and Linda Chevalier. The trees were 80 to 100 years old, Bruce said. Another oak in that cluster fell a year ago. The family lives near Lewisville Park.

The National Weather Service in Portland reports a wind advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. today for Clark County, the lower Columbia River and the Willamette Valley.

Winds are predicted to be 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 40 and 55 mph. The weather service says we could get 3/4 of an inch of rain today.
