PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center will close its medical library facility this week.

The library, located on the medical center campus at 400 N.E. Mother Joseph Place, houses two collections. One collection is for medical professionals, the other focuses on consumer health information for the public.

With the closure of the medical library, the existing drop-off box serving Fort Vancouver Regional Library district patrons will no longer be available at the medical center.

Fort Vancouver Regional Library staff will process available consumer health items previously owned by the hospital for possible inclusion in the public library collection.

All existing online medical professional journal resources supported by PeaceHealth Southwest that can be transferred will be moved to the PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center library in Longview. Community physicians practicing at PeaceHealth Southwest will continue to have access to the online clinical decision tool through the hospital’s intranet.

Providers and other clinicians needing help with medical information searches are encouraged to contact the medical library at PeaceHealth St. John. Requests can be made through Michael Graham at 360-414-7463 or mgraham@peacehealth.org.
