A commercial truck driver stopped for driving an overweight rig was arrested after troopers found what they believe is methamphetamine in her purse, according to Washington State Patrol.
Katherine Simms, 50, of Yuba City, Calif., was transporting a load of frozen chickens from Livingston, Calif., to Longview when she was stopped by commercial vehicle enforcement officers at the Port of Entry in Ridgefield about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the state patrol.
Her truck and trailer registered 1,100 pounds overweight, Trooper Will Finn said, and officers learned that Simms had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in Oregon.
Officers searched Simms and found a plastic bag of white powder, which officers believe to be methamphetamine, in her purse, Finn said.
