Excelsior garden grows to fruition

Washougal — The work of student gardeners at Excelsior High School in Washougal is coming to fruition now that it’s harvest time. The school’s student garden is used as an outdoor environmental science lab where teens learn about composting, planting and harvesting. In spring, students prepare soil and help with planting. During summer break community members help maintain the garden.
