o John Stellpflug has been hired by Vancouver-based Sigma Design as a CNC programmer. Stellpflug has worked the past 20 years in CNC job shops, where he has operated and programmed a range of machines to create parts for the electronics, industrial, medical and aerospace industries.
• There will be a breakfast reception to recognize Pam Brokaw, executive director of Partners in Careers from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 30 at 3210 N.E. 52nd St. Brokaw has led the organization for the past 41/2 years. She is leaving for a new career in ministry. Sharon Pesut will be introduced as the incoming executive director. A former teacher, Pesut joined the PIC team two years ago. She previously was executive director of Community Choices and the Clark County Family YMCA.
o The Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce has welcomed Cindy Forslund, Kathleen Romane and Don Dire to its board of directors. Forslund has worked for U.S. Bank for 18 years, including 17 at the Camas branch. She has been with the home mortgage department since January and remains at the Camas location. She lives in Washougal. Romane is president and CEO of Lacamas Community Credit Union and has spent most of her career working at credit unions. She joined Lacamas in 1999 as chief operations officer and has served as president and CEO for 10 years. Dire is a personal lines agent at Brown & Brown Northwest (formerly Nies Insurance.) He is a current member, and past president, of the Camas-Washougal Rotary Club.
New business
o Noodles & Company opens at 10:30 a.m. Monday at 19151 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. The first 50 guests in line, one per household, will receive one free noodle bowl and a complimentary swag bag. At 1 p.m., the Evergreen High School Jazz Band will perform. The restaurant seats about 80 guests inside and 13 on the patio.
