Two people were transported to a hospital Saturday after they were struck by a car that went out of control during a demolition derby on Northeast 239th Street near Ridgefield.
The accident occurred about 3 p.m. Saturday on private property east of Northeast 37th Avenue when the throttle on one of the derby cars stuck open and the car crashed through a gap in barriers and struck several onlookers, said Sgt. Dave Trimble of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Two men were transported to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital by AMR Ambulance, said Clark County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy.
A third person was also struck but declined treatment at the scene. Their names were not available Saturday.
