Mark Matthias, owner of Beaches Restaurant, said Thursday he will donate $4,000 for student classroom supplies to Vancouver Public Schools.
This week the district received widespread media coverage regarding a $4,000 shower installed over the summer in the bathroom outside the office of Steve Webb, the superintendent.
Some patrons had raised questions about whether the shower, which was paid for from general school funds, was an appropriate use of money that might have been spent in the classroom.
