Vancouver Public Schools sets tours

Parents and community members are invited to join Superintendent Steven Webb on three patron tours during the 2013-14 academic year to find out about learning opportunities in Vancouver Public Schools.

Tours are from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and begin and end at the Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road. Transportation is provided between schools. An optional $4 lunch prepared by students in the district’s culinary arts program is available.

• Dec. 6: Full-day kindergarten at Fruit Valley Community Learning Center; Challenge/Honors at Jason Lee Middle School.

• Feb. 21: Blended learning at Lewis and Clark High School; one-to-one technology at both Lewis and Clark and Alki Middle School.

• May 2: Green efforts at Sacajawea Elementary School that earned the school a Green Ribbon award from the U.S. Department of Education; magnet programs and programs of choice at Fort Vancouver High School.
