Camas woman among three injured in crash north of Castle Rock

A Camas woman was one of three people injured in a Monday morning crash north of Castle Rock that state troopers blamed on a defective tire.

The driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north on Interstate 5 lost control of the vehicle after the tread of the rear right tire separated from the casing, according to Washington State Patrol.

The Tahoe struck the Jersey barrier and rolled several times, coming to rest on its top and blocking both lanes.

A 2008 GMC pickup then crashed into the front end of the Tahoe. The crash was reported at 6:21 a.m.

Three passengers in the Tahoe were injured and taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.

Flasica Lopes, 48, of Castle Rock; Peter Holmes, 33, of Rainier, Ore.; and Susan Lamb, 41, of Camas were treated and discharged from the hospital.

The driver of the Tahoe, a Castle Rock woman, was cited for not having insurance.
