A slow start turned into a fast finish as 4A top-ranked Camas won at Canby, Ore.
Camas did score a touchdown in the first quarter as Dylan White caught a 10-yard pass from Reilly Hennessey.
But a three-touchdown second quarter took care of any slow start the Papermakers experienced.
“We sputtered a bit on offense in the first quarter,” Jon Eagle said. “Canby had a good game plan and has a good defense.”
Then the offense started to click.
In the second quarter, Nate Beasley scored on a 2-yard run, Zach Eagle scored on a 45-yard pass from Hennessey, and Cole Zarcone had a 6-yard scoring run and it was 28-0 at halftime.
