Record-high temperatures were recorded on Wednesday in Vancouver and the Portland area.
Wednesday’s thermometer hit 96 degrees in Vancouver, which ties the high temperature record for the day set in 2009.
The 95 degrees recorded in Portland on Wednesday broke the previous record of 94 degrees, which was also set in 2009.
Strong high pressure over the Pacific Northwest allowed for the high temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
Today’s forecast for Vancouver shows cooler temperatures, with highs near 86 and lows of 60 degrees. Patchy fog is predicted for today before noon, which will turn into some cloudy weather before gradually becoming sunny.
