Road resurfacing work this week will close offramps connecting Interstate 5 and East Fourth Plain Boulevard tonight, according to the city of Vancouver.

The ramps will close from 10 tonight to 5 a.m. Friday, according to the city, while crews resurface Fourth Plain. The work could also cause delays and possible lane closures on Fourth Plain between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

The work is part of the city’s broader 2013 Pavement Management Program. The section of Fourth Plain being treated this week stretches from Main Street to Fort Vancouver Way.

Crews are using a treatment known as “microsurfacing,” which uses a liquid polymer blended with liquid asphalt and small rock. The process seals existing asphalt, and fills minor rutting and surface damage in an effort to extend the life of the street, according to the city.
