Friends have organized an online medical fund for a Vancouver man who was injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend and remains in critical condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Todd Moothart, 50, and Carol Ponath, also 50, of Battle Ground were riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson southbound on Southeast 164th Avenue Saturday afternoon in Vancouver. Moothart made a left turn onto the state Highway 14 onramp, then lost control of the motorcycle and struck the guardrail.
Ponath remains at PeaceHealth. Her condition was was listed as satisfactory Wednesday night.
Troy Noel, who was also riding with Moothart and Ponath on Saturday, launched a medical fundraiser on gofundme.com. He looks to raise $25,000 for Moothart’s hospital stay, estimated to be at least six months. All of his ribs were broken in the crash, along with his pelvis; both lungs were punctured; both arms were fractured; one of his fingers was partially severed; and one of his kidneys was torn in half, according to the fundraiser website. Moothart remains in a medically induced coma, the website stated.
People interested in contributing to the medical fund can visit http://www.gofundme.com/49ihh8. Just less than $2,000 was raised by Wednesday evening.
