The Battle Ground School Board is inviting the public to meet the three finalists for the job of searching for a new superintendent.
Representatives from the three firms will make presentations and answer questions from the public at a special board meeting 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Chief Umtuch Middle School.
The three firms are: McPherson & Jacobson of Omaha, Neb., which has a consulting staff in Olympia; Ray and Associates Inc. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which has consulting staff in Tacoma; and a local option, Educational Service District 112.
The district’s next superintendent will replace Shonny Bria, who left in June with a controversial severance package worth more than $400,000. After the full scope of the payout came to light in July, district officials came under fire for approving it during a closed-door meeting.
The board doesn’t expect to decide Tuesday on a consultant, said Board President John Idsinga.
