Troopers say an inattentive driver caused a rear-end crash Monday night that sent four people to the hospital.
Sondra Carpenter-Thomas, 21, of Camas was driving a 1986 Honda Accord west on state Highway 500 approaching the Northeast 54th Avenue intersection about 8:30 p.m. She became distracted by her dog and did not see that a 1955 Austin-Healey was stopped at the intersection for a red light; she crashed into the car, according to Washington State Patrol.
The driver of the Austin-Healey, Craig Steggall, 66, and his passenger, Clair Steggall, 22, both of Vancouver, were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Carpenter-Thomas and her passenger, Sierra Hornsby, 18, of Vancouver were also injured and taken to the hospital, according to state patrol.
