A Vancouver woman was cited after the sheriff’s office says she ran a red light and crashed into a motorcyclist Monday morning.

James Carter, 49, of Washougal was riding a 2001 Moto Guzzi south on Northeast Andresen Road through a green light at Northeast 63rd Street when he was struck by a westbound SUV, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Neiman said.

Carter was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical center with injuries described as not life-threatening. He was not listed as a patient Monday night.

Emily Hays of Vancouver was driving a 2001 Suzuki La Terra west on 63rd with a red light at the intersection, Neiman said. She ignored the light, Neiman said, and caused the crash that was reported about 7 a.m.

Hays was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
